We have enjoyed another fun week of learning activities in Focus Group.

Sorting and matching activities were a big hit this week. These activities reinforce the concepts of colour and shape recognition.

Construction activities are fun but also reinforce understanding of sorting. They allow the children to explore more complex ideas such as recognition and copying of repeating patterns.

This week we tried some vegetable and fruit printing. This is a fun and messy way to explore colours and exercise creative choice in terms of colours used and the marks made. 

Different methods of mark-making were explored further using chalks and brushes. 

The children’s concentration and perseverance were challenged as they tried a threading puzzle.
